CREATIVE AUDIGY 2 ZS ALTERNATIVE DRIVER
This solution worked for me on my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum. The audio processor could mix up to 64 DirectSound3D sound channels in hardware, up from Live! Others here have talked about driver issues and problems regarding older sound cards when upgrading to Win 7. The only thing anyone objects to is, in , continuing to act as if the differences between onboard and discrete sound are something like they were in Post 1 of If its because its easier to use onboard than use up a PCI slot, or you dont wanna deal with Creative drivers which I totally understand, but for me the WDM drivers work great, have had no problems since W7 RC that I can understand. I have an alternative solution for this issue.

Is there any good reason to use an Audigy 2 sound card anymore?
Aug 16, Posts: That’s one thing that, as far as I know, few if any modern soundcards or sound chipsets do. This driver is made to support cards based on the E-mu 10k1, 10k2 and similars like what is used by audigy rx and audigy 4 cards.
While this results in good quality video even on basic systems, the device cannot be used by software that uses the standard DirectShow or VfW interface. This has been the result ever since El Capitan.

I should also note the Audigy WDM drivers have nothing to do with it. Having it installed hurts nothing. I’d be curious if I’d get a major, noticable improvement in analog output to a dedicated amplifier. I know how big the differences are. Stop listening what the mic capture 7 – Click on the sound icon, that is in the side of the Windows clock.
Anyways, the era of Creative and anyone really making quality multimedia cards is done and gone, so you’re out of luck for finding a consumer grade card with a preamp and all that jazz built in. No awful creative driver suite installed etc.
I think its either because ppl just hate wanna Creative, or think the Audigy2 sounds worse than Realtek. It was developed by Eugene Gavrilov. If other developers would like to join and help me, you can, and also an hand from other people with testing and feedback will be nice. If your Audigy drivers are fcking with the signal, that could make it sound significantly different and maybe that’s to your liking. Other people will probably agree with you that they suck, but probably not because they’re too small.
Basically you’re getting a new soundcard. I think what you’re missing is that the way you explained your preferences sound silly to a lot of people. Perhaps onboard sound quality has greatly improved to what I have now, and maybe throwing in a decent receiver might help but Im getting as much mileage out of this Audigy as I can. Headphone Reviews and Discussion – Head-Fi.
The trouble stems from Creative’s drivers not being entirely bit compatible, Creative have no date for any fix to be implemented, and haven’t even announced if they’re working on any such fix.
